As of 2020 We've added Art to the mix. We bring together amazing indie artists for the purpose of nurturing and supporting one another while Celebrating Music & Art. Still all about Independence. The Festival use to happen twice a year to (We are now a yearly Festival and in late Summer w/TheSeries taking place Monthly) celebrate talented musicians & other Artist who are serious about their craft, and taking their career to great heights Independently and Collectively. We (festival coordinators) are looking to book artists of a wide variety of genres and disciplines to perform in New York City (Manhattan) Bk & NJ

We are now coming up from the underground and reLaunching.

Submitting bands should be based in the USA. All are considered as long as they cover their own traveling expenses & accommodations. NYC/NJ/Philadelphia/New England + LA/SF/Austin areas, Will be given preference. All bands should also have a good draw in New York City. Compensation for performing artists will depend on draw unless a proven national act.

All submitting artist will also be considered for the David vs Goliath Monthly Music & Art Series (Preference is given to bands that have played the Monthly Music Series and or past festival. The Series will take place at least once a month in NYC at the venues ranging in capacity of 75-750 Past venues: Santos Party House, CrashMansion, WebsterHall + many other clubs & PopUps . Selected artists will be required to provide promotional materials.

About the festival: The Festival launched Feb. 9th-19th, 2010 with great success. Without any major sponsorship other than some assistance from VP's and influential industry friends, David vs Goliath Music Festival drew big crowds who experienced unforgettable music.

David vs Goliath Music & Art Festival and Series acknowledges the fact that Grassroots is where it all begins. In the streets, in the garages, in the indie live music clubs, small 75 capacity - medium size, 750 + capacity venues, is where it all starts. Festival coordinators have banded together to bring forth and give all support to all and an opportunity to nurture our peers, brought forth by Musicians & Other Artist and of course the fans.

We all know the music industry paradigm has been in turmoil for the past few years, the bad economy, technology and several other factors have taken its toll, in this present day and time there is a need for something new yet familiar, an organic approach.

DavidvsGoliath Music Festival acknowledges the fact that Grassroots DIY Marketing/Promotions is where it all begins.

Yes! in the streets, in the garages, in the indie live music clubs, whether small, medium size, even in the 500 + capacity venues, here is where it all starts. We have banded together to bring forth an effort to give all an opportunity and to nurture our peers that are determined about their music career, brought forth by musicians for musicians and of course the fans! Many a music festival initially started out as festivals to support

Indie Music but eventually grew too big & became the average corporate machines, charging exuberant amounts for submission fees and ignoring indie bands without that budget to hire a fancy radio promoter or publicity firm.

Our approach is very simple, it is one of nurture and support!

In addition to being a festival in NYC (Feb. 9th.-19th. & mid Sptember. 2011) we are conducting an ongoing music series effective immediately with a handful of clubs/event spaces in NYC. We've also teamed up with a few online communities/platform that offer marketing tools for indie bands, a major music placement & licensing firm and more strategic partnerships to be announced.
