About This Album

Incubated on the rooftops of South Harlem, Stereo Crowd, with their undeniable stage presence and soulful energy, has quickly created a diverse and loyal following. Becoming known as New York City’s Ambassadors of the Urban Alternative sound, they combine Black Eyed Peas style hip-hop with the soul of Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, packaged together with the amped up power of indie rock. The band is joined together by their passion for diversity; together they create music that makes people of all degrees of melanin get up, get down, and unleash their boogie nature. After barely a year of playing parties in the underground South Harlem scene, Stereo Crowd has been solicited by Joe’s Pub, several charities, private events and universities, and has established a monthly residency at Body & Soul in Manhattan’s Lower East Side music district. They consider themselves very lucky for the good fortune that has fallen upon them over the last few months, having secured venture capital, production offices, and rehearsal studios, and having been blessed with production help from platinum record producer, Andy Baldwin. Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, Andy infuses out-of-the-box creativity for the band’s forthcoming debut release in 2010. Stereo Crowd is currently booking tour dates throughout the Northeast, Mid Atlantic, and Southern Seaboard in support of their 2010 debut. With radio promotions, booking support, PR, and online fan development activities all in full swing, Stereo Crowd has begun the work to bring New York City’s slant on Urban Alternative to the rest of country, and eventually, to the rest of the world.
