Street Chic Fashions

Street Chic Fashions is a new and upcoming Indie fashion/accessories company. Lauri Archer the owner puts it this way. "I came out of the Dot Com thing. I was really thinking about what to do next with my life and in the mean time started making necklaces and fetish inspired leather items for friends. Photo Tim who is a friend of mine came to me after buying an iPod shuffle. He believed Apple got the design wrong in how it hung and asked if I could make him a leather case. This was March of last year by the way. Long story short he started wearing it around and people wanted to know where he got it. At the same time friends were telling me everyone was stopping them asking them where they got the necklaces and bracelets they were wearing.

In September of last year we showed a line of iPod bags at the Folsom Street Event and within two weeks were ripped off! Figuring if we were good enough to steal from we must be doing something right I had a talk with Photo Tim about how involved he'd like to be, hired a designer/stylist to help out and here we are. This year we're concentrating on establishing the brand, bringing out some really great new items and getting our retailing set up. We are currently available exclusively on the web and we will always support the web and offer some items exclusively through our web site. By the end of the year we'll have items from $10.00 to almost $300.00. We want everybody to be able to own Street Chic.

When you look at the streets of LA or almost any city, you don't see one style, one person, one anything really. We are mixture of cultures and style. Our designs reflect just that. They are as diverse as our individual backgrounds. A bit punk, some Goth, a little Formula 1 and Moto GP, technology, industrial design, and a lot of Fetish thrown in. One thing we aren't and never will be is the whole thug style. We feel very strongly about that.

When someone wears one of our designs we want them to feel good about who
they are, as well as look good, there is something magical about that."
